The Raboso Piave is one of the oldest wines from Veneto. Produced in the province of Treviso and the Veneziano region using 2 types of autochthonous vines: the Raboso del Piave and the Raboso Veronese. Giuseppe Vizzotto fell in love with them when he bought Villa Almè, between Livenza and Piave. He put together 20 hectares of vines, 12 of which are dedicated to the cultivation of Raboso. «The Raboso del Piave – explains Vizzotto – is a ‘sullen’ wine, a bit coarse, but when part of an expert production it improves, especially if obtained from raisins». Wine of excellence from this area: Etichetta Nera El Rasego Raboso piave Doc. An intense ruby with violet tones and a bouquet of cherry, summer fruits, vanilla, leather and tobacco.
