This agricultural farm and company is family run and was started up by the Serre family at the beginning of the ‘90s, on 18 hectares of mostly vine-dominated land, the rest being meadows and woods. The nature of the land lends itself perfectly to the production of sparkling wines from the Combai vineyards, situated at an incline of 30% on average. The wine growing is carried out more like in the mountains than in the hills. No machinery makes it up here so operations are done exclusively by hand, and material is still carried in baskets tied to the back. As a result, yield is generally quite limited and rarely reaches 120 quintals per hectare, foreseen by the PDO enforcement. The vines grown by the Serre family are the traditional and local ones that comprise the Prosecco DOC grape blend, as in the case of Prosecco, Verdino and Perera. International and traditional vines are grown instead on the less sloped vineyards.
