Santa Tresa all in red
Magazine: June 2008
In the southern part of Sicily lies Santa Tresa, a feud whose origins go back to the 17th century. This site was already part of the ancient Modica Countship since 1697, one of the most famous wine growing and producing areas of the territory. This place is characterised by a superficial layer of bright red sandy soil, which, at sunset, enhances the vermilion evening light even further, declining it into a colour spectrum that can create a very stimulating atmosphere, which sets the background for the firm. The farm has been placed by nature in optimal conditions to consent the production of a great wine. The natural qualities given to this location, in fact, see to it that human intervention comes only as an added value, which should not impair the existing delicate balance. And only red could be the colour of the wine that represents the height of its operations, the Cerasuolo di Vittoria, nectar of intense ruby-red colour, obtained from the native Frappato and Nero d’Avola vineyards.
