In the heart of Contea di Sclafani DOC in Cammarata in the Agrigento province, the vineyards of Feudo Montoni have flourished for centuries in the mountains. Everything has remained just as it was in the past: the vineyards are still planted with the old technique of side grafting wild plants with the ancestor plants that contain the pure genetic code for Nero d’Avola. This antique and delicate work carried out by expert hands gives the grapes, and subsequently the wine, a distinctive personality which corresponds with the original Nero d’Avola; a mix of tradition, elegance, and style. Gold medal winner at the Mountain Wine Competition for the Nero d’Avola Igt Sicily special selection Vrucara 2004 a crù aged twelve months in barrique and refined six months in the bottle.
