Vigne Matte was created with love and passion by Giovanni Rui, an entrepreneur from Veneto who fell in love with the Prosecco hills, especially those above Conegliano. In 1998 he purchased the Rolle holding. Wonderful vines exposed to the sun that produce superb, delicious grapes. Vigne Matte is a company with a system of certified quality control management. In 2001, the cellars were almost entirely dug out of the hills, a perfect example of non invasive architecture where the utilisation of cutting edge technology and intermittent quality control, commencing with the vines, add up to the creation of an extraordinary wine, unique on the Prosecco scene. Nowadays, whoever visits Vigne Matte, will find a superb landscape, dedicated to wine culture since the XIII century and completely sculptured by vines where nature and the sweat of labour combine to create a special harmony.

The company established between 2003 and 2004 was the realization of a dream of four friends. Five wines are produced today including two reds, Masot (pure Merlot) and Cormit (pure Cabernet Sauvignon) and two whites, Sorandi (Vespaiolo and Reisling) and Magioni (Pinot bianco and Pinot grigio) plus one dessert wine, Torcolato.

The amazing Raboso Villa Almeè

The Raboso Piave is one of the oldest wines from Veneto. Produced in the province of Treviso and the Veneziano region using 2 types of autochthonous vines: the Raboso del Piave and the Raboso Veronese. Giuseppe Vizzotto fell in love with them when he bought Villa Almè, between Livenza and Piave. He put together 20 hectares of vines, 12 of which are dedicated to the cultivation of Raboso. «The Raboso del Piave – explains Vizzotto – is a ‘sullen’ wine, a bit coarse, but when part of an expert production it improves, especially if obtained from raisins». Wine of excellence from this area: Etichetta Nera El Rasego Raboso piave Doc. An intense ruby with violet tones and a bouquet of cherry, summer fruits, vanilla, leather and tobacco.

In Lison di Pramaggiore, in the heart of the splendid lands divided between western Veneto and the lowlands of Friuli, the wines of the Agricola Mazzolada are born. The tradition and the millenary culture for the production of precious wines has impassioned the Genovese family that, since 1985, have been proprietors of Mazzolada, a label that is beginning to make itself known for the elevated quality of its production. Witness to this are the numerous prizes and awards obtained at enological competitions. The careful attention paid to the new ways of producing distinguishes the Tenuta Mazzolada. Amongst the prestigious wines that have won the consensus of the critics are the Cabernet Sauvignon Vigna del Falco, the Merlot Vigna del Frassino and, of course, the “Ultimo Tocai”.

The entrance, signposted by a graceful road and fl anked with sculptured statues by the Venetian artist Orazio Marinali, opens onto a wonderful setting with a stunning Palladian style villa dating from 1622.
