Weaving magic in the castle
Bambini Magazine: April 2008
“Come on in Boys and girls! Room for everyone…” there is Arlecchino, Brighella, Gianduia, Puncinello and a whole load of naughty slaves, fussy doctors, country men and city gents. The happy brigade awaits you at the Puppet Castello Parma, inside the San Paolo monastery. Here we relive forgotten emotions, reviving the ancient art of puppet and marionette making. In fact, for one afternoon you can step into the craftsmen’s’ shoes. On Sunday 13th April “Trame a Castello” is on the programme, a creative fabric workshop. The weaves in question are super coloured fabrics, woven on the loom and inventive in shapes, designs and colours thanks to a fantastic array of vibrant yarns. And once you have exhausted the creative juices you can take the masterpieces home to Mum!
