Loooking out of the windows of the hotel Astoria is like being enchanted by a beautiful painting. The canvas of the blue sky and the waters of lake Maggiore is coloured by the flowers of the Borromeo Islands, the mountain on the back complete the picture worthy a Van Gogh or a Monet painting. As if by magic, the windows is not a breach in the wall anymore, it becomes the frame that presents this incredible landscape. The Hotel Astoria is set in Stresa, undoubtedly the most favoured location where to enjoy the charms of the Borromeo gulf. This town lies on the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore, it is a gem placed on this lake that stretches until Switzerland. It is a corner of paradise with unique jewels like the Botanic Gardens and Zoo of Villa Pallavicino, the small characteristic port and the three beautiful islands that face Stresa. Specially the islands are one of the most important examples of Italian gardens and the Borromeo palaces are world famous and are visited by tourists from all over the world. Since its construction in 1954 the Hotel Astoria has always been managed and owned by the same family, it joins the quality and modern comfort of a big hotel with the warmth and friendly service of a small family establishment.
