Prosecco I love you!
Vino Magazine: September 2008
Today, the ‘Made in Italy’ has managed to make a name for itself in several areas in the New World; just think about the gastronomy, the dishes and Italian wines that are increasingly sought-after by American patrons. Confirming this is the latest news regarding the insertion of the term “Prosecco” in one of the most important stars and stripes dictionaries, the Merriam- Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary. Defined as “sparkling Italian wine”, the most famous Italian white wine is part of only 100 entries imported from other languages, which the dictionary includes in the new edition, now considering them of common use and “American” for all practical purposes. But the sparkling Veneto nectar is not only a star overseas. According to some studies, this wine could have a genetic origin in Armenia.
