A melting pot of food & design: The culinary excellence of the Lombardy region becomes a design experience.

Design Food Experience is a project conceived by the Agriculture Department of the Lombardy Regional Authority for the Fuorisalone 2007, with the aim of creatively combining the cream of the Region's production in two areas with much in common: gastronomy and design.
Traditional local products, whose quality is recognized and certified, are “transformed” to become imaginary food that raises a smile or stimulates reflection on the nature of food, on taste and the sense of "good taste" for the Region has long been an ambassador, just as it is in style and design, reaching every corner of the world.
All of the installations and 15 images on show have been chosen to investigate the many interconnections between the world of design and gastronomy, where tradition, innovative materials, sophisticated and artisan technologies combine to showcase the cream of both worlds, food and design.
The events which take place over the 5 evenings of the Design Food Experience have been chosen to create for every dish/product its own space and flavour, with guest “chefs” (writers from the leading national design journals), who will prepare a recipe in their own particular way.
