Eulogy to lightness
Biella
Magazine: February 2008

Springing on the slopes of the Mombarone, at over 1000 metres high, the Lauretana water has a lovely tale to tell. One day over a half a century ago Teresio Rossello was walking in the mountains in the Municipality of Graglia, being thirsty he stopped to drink from a spring. He found the water to be so pleasantly light that he returned many times. He analysed it at the Turin University and, given the excellent results, he decided to set up a company. Near the spring, he constructed a factory where the natural fall of the water was conveyed by means of stainless steel tubes. The bottling activity started in 1965 and the water was called Lauretana in honour of the Madonna of Loreto worshiped in the Graglia sanctuary. The company very quickly expanded. Amongst the more or less 270 labels on the market, the Lauretana is the lightest thanks to its 14mg/l of fi xed residue and a ph of 5.8, slightly acidic.
